Quail Run Building Materials has announced three new positions. Don Plueard has been named chief operations officer for the company. Kyle Clark has been named vice president of production and inventory control. Fred Serpico has been appointed as vice president of marketing and product development.

Master Wall has announced the addition of two employees to its western sales market. Dr. Rochelle Bradford has been named the company’s product innovation and quality control manager. She will work out of the company’s Lithonia, Ga., manufacturing facility. Jason Cowley has joined as a sales representative for the western region. He will work with Jeff Muir, regional sales manager out of the company’s Payson, Utah facility.

Bill Breault, of Breault Industrial Inc., of Tualatin, Ore., will succeed John Miller as president of the SIA effective Friday, July 25. This is a two-year term. Miller will become past president.

Norm Alger has joined Applegate Insulation as its southeastern regional sales manager.

Larry Gibson was recently honored on his retirement after 40 years in the fireproofing business. One of the original owners of LCR Contractors Inc., Gibson, a plasterer by trade, owned the Dallas-based company from 1985 until 2004 when he was bought out by current company president Buddy Spicer. Gibson continued to work for LCR as the head of field operations until he retired in February 2008. Wayne James, executive director of NOCSA commented, “He was one of the real pioneers.” LCR Contractors specializes in spray fireproofing and spray thermal insulation.

Gordon Charles Scott, 88, passed away on May 16 in San Antonio. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Scott, in 2001. Scott was still running his own company, the Gordon C. Scott Company, at the time of his death after a brief illness. He worked previously for the Ceco Steel Corporation in Chicago and Omaha, Neb. for more than 45 years. He was very active in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he was Head Usher since moving to San Antonio in 1984 from Elmhurst, Ill. He considered his strong Catholic faith one of his greatest joys. Furthermore, Scott was active with the Texas Lathing & Plastering Contractors and a regular attendee at its annual convention.

Simonton Windows has promoted Scott Sheffield to the position of plant manager for the company’s McAlester, Okla. facility. In his new role, he will oversee the operations at the 202,500-square-foot manufacturing plant in the Steven W. Taylor Industrial Park in McAlester. The company also named Chris Monroe to the newly created position of vice president, strategic planning and business development.Sid Spear will assume the expanded responsibilities of marketing for the national window manufacturer.
