CertainTeed has enhanced its Web site with a Building Science sitelet that provides information, educational tools, technical resources and animations of heat, air and moisture flow within buildings.

The site provides building and design solutions that are based in science, including problem diagnosis, integrated solutions and best practices. Building science topics covered on the site include: acoustics, fire performance, IAQ, moisture management, sustainability and energy efficiency. Visitors can access frequently asked questions, videos and literature on specific topics, as well as practical building and design strategies.

“As the demand for sustainable construction continues to grow, it’s critical to understand how building products and systems interact with each other in a way that can have unintended consequences for the performance and durability of the building,” said Stan Gatland, manager of building science technology at CertainTeed. “Our new … sitelet provides that type of information to the building and design community, as well as those who occupy the homes and buildings.”

Over time, the company will add more building science information to the site, including white papers published by its building science team members, as well as other content.
