At this year’s INTEX, National Gypsum introduced The SoundBook, a resource for technical details and real-world sound-rated assembly drawings.

The SoundBook contains 165 sound-rated assemblies for steel and wood stud construction, as well as floor and ceiling applications, and includes acoustical terms, concepts, and proper installation methods for optimal sound control.

The resource is a companion to The Purple Book, which consists of nearly 100 pages of technical details, including fire-rated partitions, shaftwall assemblies, penetration details, head-of-wall details, fire stopping options, and more. The SoundBook and The Purple Book are part of a series of original National Gypsum handbooks designed to meet the demands of today’s building professionals.

The SoundBook is available for download on National Gypsum’s Web site at nationalgypsum.com, by clicking the book image on the bottom of the home page.
