SFPE receives grant from FEMA for learning program on fire protection systems
The Society of Fire Protection Engineers has received a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support the conversion of the four day long Principles of Fire Protection Engineers class, authored by Professors John Bryan, FSFPE and James Milke, FSFPE to a distance learning format.
The objective is to bring this program to broader audiences internationally to include the fire service, building contractors and facility managers. The project will be lead by a multidisciplinary team who will advise on any needed changes to the content of the program, decide on appropriate delivery mechanisms for given audiences, and supervise the distance learning conversion. The course will be given on a pilot basis to 100 individuals in late 2004.
