George Surrency, 61, owner of Contractors Equipment & Supplies LLC, died November 21, 2005, at his residence. Surrency is known as the inventor of the Sunspray fireproofing hydraulic pump system. Before opening Sun Construction in 1983, he was a long time district sales manager for Essick.
The two-hour memorial service was highlighted by a eulogy given by Jill Surrency, George's daughter. Many references were made about Surrency's lust for life and his no-regrets attitude. Most in the industry will remember him for his large frame, his jovial laugh and his caring attitude towards family, friends and colleagues.
