At one time, 30 percent of the EIFS business was in the residential market. Today, the EIFS business in this market segment is less than 5 percent. In the United States the EIFS industry has continued to grow steadily since the recession ended in 2012. This growth has come without a solid presence in the residential market. It has been over twenty years since the water intrusion issues derailed the EIFS residential business. There are a few scattered areas where EIFS is being used on houses, but the once popular residential cladding is rarely seen in developments these days.
