Newly Structured General Carpentry Curriculum from NCCER is Now Available
The sixth edition of the National Center for Construction Education and Research’s General Carpentry curriculum is now available as the first level leading to a two-pronged course path. In response to customer usage and market demand, the new program will include career paths for carpentry for building construction and form carpentry, as well as interim credentials for each.
Breaking from the traditional four-level trainee guide, the new model has three trainee guides, consisting of Core, General Carpentry and either Carpentry for Building Construction or Form Carpentry, with the latter slated for release in 2023. Together, the three trainee guides may be used to create a full, four-year apprenticeship program.
