The Metal Construction Association is proud to announce the launch of the 2022-2023 Metal Architecture Academy. Part of Architectural Record’s Continuing Education Center, the new academy is comprised of eight courses including an on-demand webinar, a multi-media course and six written courses.
The sixth edition of the National Center for Construction Education and Research’s General Carpentry curriculum is now available as the first level leading to a two-pronged course path. In response to customer usage and market demand, the new program will include career paths for carpentry for building construction and form carpentry, as well as interim credentials for each.
Without question, the building and construction industry has been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Approximately 1.1 million construction jobs were eliminated in the first two months of the pandemic prior to the industry’s designation as “essential.” While the industry has recouped nearly 80 percent of its workforce since then, companies will need to hire another 1 million workers over the next two years to meet the country’s insatiable demand for new home construction and improvement.
HPIP has embarked on a new aspect of serving contractors. We have worked hard to educate, train, and certify contractors who install high performance systems.
In celebration of Labor Day, ReBuild USA launched the nationwide “Make a Difference” campaign, and released a video highlighting the apprentices and journeymen who contribute to a cause important to all of us: re-building America and the middle class.
IPAF certified instructors were given a preview of new learning tools that are set to enhance IPAF’s full training program for operators of mobile elevating work platforms.
