Sonoma County, California-based ceiling panel and tile manufacturer, Ceilume announced the opening of a new showroom in Portland’s central eastside industrial district.

Ceilume’s striking 3,000 square-foot facility is geared to professional interior designers, builders and homeowners alike, and is the only manufacturer-owned ceiling showroom in the western United States,” said Noah Davis, showroom manager. It was built to showcase the company’s 35 different ceiling tiles and panels. Designed in vignettes, the tiles and panels were developed to inspire design ideas for interiors of all types in a setting that focuses purely on ceilings.

“We selected Portland both for its design culture and its central location serving the Pacific Northwest,” said Davis. “Ceilume has a multitude of installations in Portland already, and the inner eastside location is convenient for our growing customer base here.”

The company’s products can be used for a wide variety of interior applications—both decorative and functional—including illumination and daylighting. As a decorative alternative to traditional acoustical ceiling tiles, Ceilume’s NRC-Plus Perforated Panel System provides a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of 0.85.

The products are Class A fire-rated, self-extinguishing, and can be installed beneath fire sprinklers, keeping them hidden, and making the ceiling less cluttered and more attractive.  When exposed to heat, the panels soften and fall from the ceiling grid, enabling unobstructed sprinkler operation.

Ceilume’s Greenguard Gold Certified panels and tiles are made from lightweight, recyclable thermoplastics, are low-VOC-emitting, dust-free, and promote good indoor air quality. The products can be glued to an existing ceiling, or used in any environment where a dropped ceiling is required. The tiles and panels are washable, do not promote mold growth, and can also be used for outdoor applications. Their fiber-free makeup is suited for clean rooms and healthcare facilities. They are FDA-compliant for use in food-handling areas.

Ceilume’s Portland showroom is located at 1225 Southeast Grand Avenue and open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or Saturday by appointment.
