The American Concrete Institute is pleased to bring the ACI Concrete Convention to Boston. Known as the world’s gathering place for advancing concrete, the convention will take place Oct. 29 – Nov. 2.
The ACI Foundation’s Concrete Research Council selected 11 research projects to receive grants this year. The CRC seeks concrete research projects that further the knowledge and sustainability of concrete materials, construction and structures in coordination with ACI Technical Committees.
The ACI Foundation announced new Trustees and the re-election of an existing Trustee to its Board. The Trustees re-elected the Chair of Trustees — Jeffrey Coleman — and elected a new Trustee — Brett McMahon. New ACI Vice President Maria Juenger also joins the Trustees as part of her new role.
The American Concrete Institute announced its 2023-2024 president, vice president and four board members. Antonio Nanni has been elected to serve as president of the Institute.
The collection is a comprehensive and large single source of information on concrete design, construction, materials and repair, with over 50 codes and specifications and more than 200 practices.
Linda Chamberlain, who served as executive assistant to 10 OPCMIA general presidents over her 54-year tenure with the union, announced her retirement, effective July 1. She was recognized and praised by all who worked with her for her extraordinary service, exceptional performance and deep dedication to the well-being of every OPCMIA member.
The American Concrete Institute has hired Mahmut Ekenel, PhD, PE, FACI, to support, promote and assist in the development of certification and conformity assessment programs.
