The North American Steel Framing Alliance has published the Prescriptive Method for Residential Cold-Formed Steel Framing, Year 2000 Edition. Based on standardized steel members, the text provides a prescriptive approach to building homes with steel framing. It includes floor and ceiling joist span tables, rafter and header span tables, wall stud tables, and wall bracing and connection requirements. All requirements are supplemented with the latest construction details taken from practices observed in the field.
