ServiceMagic Inc. announced its inaugural "Best in Business" Award, which was established to recognize home service professionals who best exemplify excellence in workmanship, integrity, dedication and exceptional customer service. Twelve of the company's 27,000 member businesses are being honored with the award for their service in 2004.

They have built up a large number of positive Customer Ratings & Reviews, which indicates they are going above and beyond to exceed the expectations of their customers," said Michael Beaudoin, co-CEO of the company.

ServiceMagic measures member businesses performance based on their Customer Ratings & Reviews. The company solicits feedback from consumers who utilize the services of the company's member businesses. Consumers rate their experience on a scale from 1 to 5 (5 being the best score) as it relates to timeliness, cleanliness, budget, quality, value, communication and courteousness. This information is compiled and shared with the company's consumers to assist them in selecting home service professionals.
