Construction Professionals attending the CONEXPO-CON/AGG exposition March 11-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas will find the latest equipment and product technologies and innovations to help solve business challenges.
The show, held every three years, will feature new and expanded education opportunities and a record amount of exhibit space. Most importantly, show organizers are committed to continuing the show’s reputation for quality and service, to provide a positive show experience for all attendees and exhibitors. More than 125,000 industry professionals are expected to attend.
Participants will comparison-shop for the latest equipment, products and services; participate in targeted education sessions that increase industry knowledge; and network with peers and competitors to exchange ideas and information.
Exhibits will cover more than 2.28 million square feet, with nearly 2,000 exhibitors. As in past years, exhibitors will be grouped into product-concentration areas to help attendees more easily find the products and companies they’re most interested in. These product groupings are: aggregates, asphalt and compaction, concrete, earthmoving machinery and attachments, engines and components, information technology, trucks, utilities, lifting (aerial and cranes), associations/industry events, drilling, safety and traffic, and trenching and shoring.
The show has signed on 10 international exhibit pavilions, from Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 will also feature displays of historical equipment throughout the show, illustrating the industry’s rich heritage and the show’s history from 1909 to the present.
The expo will again feature an Information Technology (IT)/ Management Pavilion, sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), designed to provide a comprehensive selection of the latest technology solutions that increase company productivity and efficiency in the office and in the field.
New show-floor additions will focus on industry safety training and the need for a qualified industry workforce. A special Safety Zone exhibit area will feature live demonstrations and information resources focused on jobsite safety. Show sponsor National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) will hold its first-ever Mixer Driver World Cup competition, designed to recognize the exceptional talent and skills of ready mixed concrete mixer drivers from around the world.
Show sponsor Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will hold the finals of its first ever teen-oriented Construction Challenge at the show, with the goal of spurring interest in construction industry careers and spotlighting industry contributions to quality of life such as good roads and clean water.
Education is an important component of the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show experience. The education program will offer more than 120 sessions delivered by industry experts with a focus on industry trends, case studies and “how to” application techniques and strategies. The sessions are divided into 10 program tracks to help attendees locate topics of most interest to them. Selected education modules will be conducted with simultaneous interpretation into Portuguese, Spanish and Russian. Industry organizations will also offer certification and examination programs and attendees will have the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
