Structus Building Technologies received recognition this week as one of the state’s top mid-sized manufacturers at The Portland Business Journal’s 2012 Oregon Manufacturing Awards. The Journal recognized nine manufacturers that are driving the region's economy through innovation and strategic evolution.

Criteria for the award included company financial performance, overall business strategy and innovative approaches such as excellence in internal operations, corporate training and manufacturing processes, including sustainable practices. Structus had been previously honored in 2007 with a Manufacturing Excellence Award by Economic Development for Central Oregon for its process excellence, product innovation, and leadership in lean manufacturing.

 “It is an honor to be recognized,” said CEO Bill Scannell. “We are usually so focused on meeting our high internal goals and standards, that we don’t often step outside of the business and ask how we are doing compared to other companies in the state.”
