IMCD, a leading distributor, formulator and solutions provider of speciality chemicals and ingredients, announced June 1 the relocation and opening of the new IMCD Coatings & Construction Laboratory serving customers throughout North America. Located near the historic city of Philadelphia, the new 6,400-square-foot laboratory expands IMCD’s technical capabilities to now include construction, in addition to its existing capabilities for industrial coatings, decorative paints and adhesives. The new facility also provides training accommodations for IMCD’s commercial team, plus customer seminars and academies.

The state-of-the-art IMCD Coatings & Construction Laboratory delivers coast-to-coast formulation support for a broad range of coatings and construction applications throughout North America. Key equipment available through the newly expanded laboratory include, but are not limited to:

  • Rheometer.
  • Optical tensiometer.
  • Bubble pressure tensiometer.
  • Taber abrasion.
  • Spray booth.
  • Flexural and compressive testing machine.

The new laboratory is part of IMCD Coatings & Construction’s international network of 14 laboratories with market-focused experts who exchange knowledge and unparalleled formulatory expertise. While the new facility adds a construction laboratory to the company’s existing North America capabilities, the space was designed to accommodate future investments in expanding IMCD’s technical support into printing inks, textile and paper industries.
