The American Concrete Institute will be holding its Spring 2009 Convention in San Antonio, Texas, at the Marriott Rivercenter, March 15-19, 2009.

With committee meetings, technical and educational sessions, networking opportunities, and the ability provide input on concrete industry codes, specifications, and guides, the convention will bring together engineers, architects, contractors, educators, manufacturers, and material representatives from all over the world.

The convention will feature a CMC Steel Texas technical tour, a “Night in Old San Antonio” themed Concrete Mixer, a Student FRP Composites Competition, daily sessions on sustainability, and a full day dedicated to local contractors. Additionally, a book drive will be held during the convention in an effort to fight adolescent illiteracy. ACI attendees are encouraged to bring new or gently used children’s books K-12 to the convention. Donated books will go to the San Antonio Youth Literacy Council.

Convention attendees who register by Feb. 15, 2009 will receive reduced registration rates. In addition, the Marriott Rivercenter is offering convention attendees a special rate for rooms reserved prior to Feb. 20.
