National Gypsum

National Gypsum introduced the building community to its newest purple choice, e2XP Interior Extreme, at the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI) Convention and INTEX EXPO 2010 in Denver. As a fiberglass-faced mold and moisture resistant gypsum panel, e2XP Interior Extreme can be used in a variety of interior applications that have the potential for extreme conditions. e2XP Interior Extreme is well-suited for use in:

• Pre-rock applications. e2XP Interior Extreme can be used as a pre-rock gypsum panel in areas with the potential to be exposed to the elements during the early stages of construction. It can be installed before the building envelope is complete and can help keep construction on or ahead of schedule.

• Interior perimeter applications. The panel is well-suited for the interior side of exterior walls, particularly around doors and windows where moisture intrusion can be a concern.

• Owner or architect specified interiors. e2XP Interior Extreme can be specified throughout the interior of projects that require the exclusive use of fiberglass-faced gypsum panels, such as certain hospitals, health care facilities and schools. Higher humidity areas. This can include basements, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and other non-wet areas.

e2XP Interior Extreme is comprised of coated glass mat facers and an enhanced core and can be used in both commercial and residential settings. The panel is lightweight, scores and cuts easily and is specially coated on the front, back and sides for easy handling. It is produced in ½-inch regular and 5/8-inch Fire-Shield Type X, 4-foot wide in standard lengths. For more information, visit purplechoice.info.
