CertainTeed has announced the winners for its Seventh Annual CertainTeed Gypsum Trophy Awards, which recognizes contractors’ work across North America – each at the forefront of drywall design, installation, sustainability and craftsmanship.

“While this marks only the seventh Trophy Award for CertainTeed, the pause we had to take due to the pandemic made us realize how quickly this has become a luminary moment in our industry to honor and celebrate the innovative uses of our gypsum products and the incredible teams behind them,” said Mathew P. Byrne, CertainTeed’s VP of sales for the interior products group in the USA. “In a season where labor shortages compound challenges met with timelines, budgets and outside-the-box design requests, the winners we’ve selected this year embody the true artisanship required to be an exceptional gypsum professional.”

The competition, which is traditionally hosted every two years, assesses drywall and finishing contractors in the U.S. and Canada for their design skills with gypsum, spanning various categories, such as creativity, innovation and sustainability. Winners are invited to attend the Seventh CertainTeed Gypsum Trophy Awards event, which will be held on Oct. 17-19 at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Alberta.

Of the winners listed below, four U.S. companies will serve as ambassadors at the 14th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy Awards, competing among contractors and their most prestigious projects from around the world in Paris in April 2025.

• T.J. McCartney, Inc. for Assembly Innovation Park – Phase I in Somerville, Massachusetts
• Valley for The Ohio State University Wexner Hospital in Columbus, Ohio
• Klover Contracting for St. Charles Borromeo Seminary Student Life Center in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania
• Western Partitions Inc. for The Ritz Carlton Tower – Block 216 in Portland, Oregon
• Performance Contracting Inc. for Turfway Park Racing & Gaming in Florence, Kentucky
