NuMetal, a high pressure laminate with a thin metal surface, was the company’s first product line introduced in 1979. Through the years it evolved from two-dimensions to three-dimensions, and has grown to include aluminum, stainless steel and copper substrates in more than 60 patterns and colors.

In 2014 NuMetal adds Shingles, a modern take on traditional cedar-shake siding. Created using aluminum, detailed embossing mimics the striations of hand-split, cedar shake shingles. The effect is traditional meets modern. It combines the rough-hewn texture of wood with the contemporary feel of metal.

Shingles are stocked in antique pewter and stainless aluminum finishes, although they can be special ordered in any of the 12 colors in the NuMetal collection. The finish is lacquered for chemical and scratch resistance. Shingles come in 4’ x 8’ sheets.

“NuMetal has an enduring appeal with customers,” says Burgio.  “2014 marks our 35th year of selling it in the U.S.”
