Construction
contracts are landing in court more frequently and at higher dollar
figures than ever before, according to a report from Bisnow. By the end
of 2022, the average value of construction disputes in North American
courts reached almost $43 million, the highest amount recorded. This
figure was up from about $30 million the year prior and double the
averages between 2016 and 2019. Experts say the number of lawsuits over
construction projects is expected to rise even more in the coming years.
