Luxury outdoor living brand Azenco Outdoor announced that it has been acquired by Hunter Douglas, Inc. The transaction closed this month will help Azenco Outdoor to establish a stronger local presence with vendors nationwide and new manufacturing locations.

Azenco Outdoor designs and manufactures an award-winning range of innovative bioclimatic pergolas, cabanas, carports and swimming pool covers, which elegantly complement any architectural style and optimize every residential or commercial outdoor space.

“Hunter Douglas approached us when they found a complementary synergy with our products and desire to add sophisticated and sustainable pergolas and cabanas to their portfolio,” remarked Leslie Chapus, Azenco’s vice president and co-founder. “We are very much aligned with the values and quality of the other in-demand and innovative brands they have acquired over the past few years and were thrilled to come together for a mutual benefit.”

Blending European design and made in America, Azenco Outdoor specializes in the innovative design and manufacturing of outdoor aluminum products. Established in the U.S. in 2017, Azenco is known for premium quality, clean lines, concealed hardware design and superior aluminum alloy, with a dedication to sustainability. Chapus, who has over 15 years of experience in the industry, is at the helm of the brand’s global expansion and international strategy.

“We were pleased to enter this partnership with Azenco Outdoor, a brand that has proven to be at the forefront of the luxury outdoor living industry,” commented Derek Forbes, president of Hunter Douglas Outdoor. “It is our goal to expand their reach and make Azenco’s products available nationwide.”

Azenco Outdoor leverages its patented designs and precision manufacturing processes to craft the highest-quality outdoor living structures on the market. In 2019, Azenco Outdoor opened a fabrication facility in Miami to streamline service throughout North America.

“We’re pleased to be recognized by the esteemed team at Hunter Douglas,” remarked Charles Chapus, CEO and co-founder of Azenco Outdoor, who brings 20 years of experience in European markets. “We have been making great strides in the business for two decades, but we aren’t resting on our achievements in the past. This partnership will be a crucial next step to aid in our ability to apply new insights and the latest technology that drives our work forward in creating a chic and sustainable way to create the outdoor living spaces of our clients’ dreams.”

Many notable luxury entities, including Hilton, Marriott, Starbucks and Aston Martin Residences, have commissioned Azenco’s outdoor expertise to enhance their properties. The brand has also found success within the golf world at several high-end clubs and PopStroke, Tiger Woods’ experiential golf and casual dining concept. Prominent country clubs, such as Boca West, Admirals Cove and Jonathan’s Landing, also have Azenco to credit for their chic outdoor areas. The brand’s influence extends further through its work adorning significant celebrity homes nationwide, including that of Jordan Rodgers and Joelle Fletcher.

Hunter Douglas’ brand names are widely recognized around the world. Hunter Douglas leads the industry with the most innovative and high-quality product portfolio that targets the latest trends in consumer preferences. Hunter Douglas takes pride in its unique strategy and inspiring product marketing to build brand awareness and create consumer demand.

Hunter Douglas’ parent company, 3G Capital, is a global investment firm known for its funding of Budweiser, Stella Artois, Brahma, Corona, Burger King, Tim Hortons, Popeyes and more. The deal-maker firm with Brazilian origins is known for building private partnerships on an owner-operator approach to investing over a long-term horizon.

Azenco Outdoor will continue its commercial policy and Charles and Leslie Chapus will proceed to run all operations on a hands-on level in the Miami location.
