In response to the recent storms that produced several tornadoes across northeastern Oklahoma, northern Texas, Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas, Simpson Strong-Tie is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross for direct support services the organization is providing to those who were affected.

Tragically, 22 people, including children, lost their lives from the storms. Many others were impacted due to widespread flooding, power outages and other issues. The American Red Cross has provided immediate care, with food, shelter, mental health care, medication replacement and more. According to the Red Cross, 2024 has been the most active year for tornadoes since 2017.

Thousands of people across 17 states are receiving care and aid from hundreds of trained Red Cross disaster workers, including in Iowa, Michigan and Nebraska. Preliminary findings reported that nearly 3,000 homes were destroyed or sustained major damage.

“We are heartbroken for the families who are dealing with this terrible loss,” said Simpson Strong-Tie CEO Mike Olosky. “All of us will continue to keep them in our thoughts and to do what we can to help support everyone affected by these storms.”

The contribution reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to aid in disaster relief and recovery efforts around the world. To donate to the American Red Cross, go to redcross.org.
