Near Petco Park in San Diego, a new indoor skydiving facility is doing more than helping people learn to fly: It's also turning heads. And it’s bringing neighbors together, too.

The growing congregation at the Church of the Harvest in Olathe, Kan., needed to greatly increase its worship capacity, and it was searching for a durable and attractive building. The combination of an engineered metal building from Butler Manufacturing with Tuff Wall panels from Metl-Span met the criteria that made everyone happy.

With red iron steel framing in place at the large 71’-0” diameter dome, Competitive Interiors Inc. contracted Radius Track Corporation for multiple cold-formed steel framing solutions.

The integration of products from Metl-Span and Metallic Building Company became a successful project on all fronts: The Pingree School Athletics Facility in South Hamilton, Mass., is an energy-efficient and aesthetically pleasing building, constructed with time and labor savings in mind.

The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio renovation project presented layout space restrictions, trade overlap, tight schedule requirements, and close proximity to occupied spaces. MK Marlow Company LLC, the framing and gypsum contractor, depended on Radius Track Corp. from the beginning by inviting the framing design expert to bid coordination meetings which were held via web-based video conference.

Shildan’s terracotta rainscreen and sunscreen systems have been featured on more than 300 institutional projects worldwide, in collaboration with such architects as Renzo Piano, FXFowle, and COOKFOX among countless others. 

Radius Track Corp. received the Excellence in Construction Award from CISCA, the Ceiling and Interior Systems Contractor Association. The award, presented at CISCA’s annual convention, recognizes the company for excellence in designing and fabricating curved cold-formed steel framing for the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, Calif. 

Post-frame construction has been used in place of more conventional construction methods in just about every building type.
