Code Changes Mandate Rainscreen
The 2021 ICC and IBC codes have made important changes to section 2510 Lathing and Furring for Stucco. Changes apply to stucco installed over wood-based sheathings in moist and marine climate zones. The mandate requires a drainage material minimum of 3/16 inch (4 millimeter) in depth, applied to the exterior side of the water-resistive barrier.
