Spider, a division of SafeWorks LLC, announced the award of the contract to replace the façade maintenance system on 3M's corporate headquarters located in Maple Wood, Minn.

The contract is part of a multi-million dollar refurbishment project to the exterior façade of 3M's first corporate headquarters built in 1955. Spider's façade maintenance system will be custom designed to match the chevron contours of the façade. In addition, the building will be equipped with the latest in glass replacement technology.

An independent traction hoist will enable the operator to lift and position glass into place with ease.

This project will be completed in October 2005.
