SAF BEGINS PRODUCTION AT WESTERN FACILITY
Southern Aluminum Finishing Co. has begun its Western plant operations in Redding, Calif. The 20,000-square-foot West Plant facility will distribute and fabricate aluminum sheet and extrusions for the commercial construction market, including glazing contractors, subcontractors, architects, design/build contractors, owners, and manufacturers. The new SAF plant, in addition to expanding the company’s national distribution and production services, will augment the company’s SAF Western Division sales office in San Diego.
SAF is the only aluminum service center in the country with anodizing and painting facilities, a full-time fabrication center, and an unparalleled stock of sheet and extrusions, architectural column covers and panel systems from a single source. This enables SAF to provide quick, one-stop expertise, service and accountability. SAF boasts next business day order fulfillment for mill finish, anodized and cut-to-length extrusions.
Products available from the SAF West branch will include next-day-out extrusions and prefinished sheets. Fabrication services include shear, press brake and welding.
“We see tremendous construction growth potential throughout the West. From this Northern California location on I-5, a major transportation artery, we’ll be able to offer overnight delivery of anodized and mill finish aluminum to most of the west coast,” according to SAF project manager Jim McClatchey. “This is particularly important to more completely support the nation-wide SAF eCommerce network on www.saf.com, where aluminum extrusion and sheet transactions may be processed and tracked around the clock, 365 days per year.”
