Hunter Douglas Receives “Partners of Choice” Award

August 3, 2015

Hunter Douglas announced that for the fourth year it has won the renowned “Partners of Choice” Award from David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately held homebuilder. The window fashions leader received the top award, an “A,A” rating for both product quality and service in David Weekley Homes’s ongoing Supply Feedback Platform, the heart of which is its National Trading Partner Survey, a rigorous, interactive evaluation of approximately 200 national providers. The comprehensive survey measures access, communication, timeliness, reliability, follow-through, confidence levels and other areas important to the business relationship.

Hunter Douglas has been honored with the “Partners of Choice Award” more times than any other window covering company. With 15 other “A,A” winners this year, this award puts Hunter Douglas in the top five percent of all suppliers to this eminent homebuilder.

The awards were presented during David Weekley Homes’ National Accounts Meeting at a reception held on July 28th at the Westin Hotel in Memorial City in Houston, Texas. Other companies sharing this distinguished honor include Bosch/Thermador, Boise Engineered Wood Products, Dow Chemical, James Hardie, Lennox Industries and Office Depot.

“Our Supplier Evaluation Platform not only analyzes the manufacturer, but also the performance of its channel partners. Hunter Douglas has competed with over 200 suppliers within different industries and come out on top; its 2014 performance confirms that the company is world-class in delivering goods and services to David Weekley Homes,” said Bill Justus, Vice President of Supply Chain Services, and the catalyst behind this cutting-edge evaluation program he first implemented in 2004. In addition to being the most comprehensive supplier evaluation program in the homebuilding industry, it may be the most comprehensive program in U.S. industry today. It facilitates channel alignment so that all parties support the common goal of delivering competitively priced quality products consistently to the builder.

“Hunter Douglas consistently demonstrates that they and their partners can deliver on our goals, and do so with seamless service throughout the supply chain,” continued Justus. “We’re glad to be affiliated with them and commend the company for its ongoing excellence.”

Said Ron Kass, Hunter Douglas President and CEO, “We’re honored to receive this important endorsement of the products and services we provide from the initial design consultation, through ordering, manufacturing, delivery and installation. It speaks to our strength as a company and to the unwavering support of our loyal dealers. We could not have achieved this award without them and heartily thank them, and the team at David Weekley Homes for the recognition.”

“By providing feedback from all levels inside our company, trading partners know exactly how they are doing within each market. That just begins the process. We then challenge both our trading partners and ourselves to seek ways to improve performance and achieve world-class excellence together,” concluded Justus.
