Cal Drywall Campaigns to Get its Workers Vaccinated Against COVID-19
As Community Braces for Omicron-Fueled Wave, California Drywall Reaches 90.1% COVID-19 Vaccination Rate While Construction Industry Average Stagnates at 55%
The construction industry at large is struggling to get workers vaccinated, with only 55% of workers vaccinated nationally. With over 600 employees in the field and in office, California Drywall is on the forefront of maintaining both vaccinated and unvaccinated employees. Currently, 90.1% of California Drywall's field workforce and an even larger percentage of its office personnel are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
About 550 Cal Drywall employees are vaccinated, which Cal Drywall leadership incentivized through a campaign that ran from September to early December, offering $250 to each employee who provided them with proof of being fully vaccinated. Overall, California Drywall has paid out approximately $125,000 to employees, not including an additional $8,000 they paid out in a random raffle drawing for those who submitted proof of vaccination.
