In this episode of If Walls Could Talk, W&C Group Publisher Jill Bloom chats with Adams & Reese’s Trent Cotney on installation hiccups and warranties. 

What happens when a contractor has a claim during installation? Out of an insurance claim, it could be on the owner’s policies, the owner doesn’t want to pay until that insurance is resolved. “What I like to do is look at it from a contractual obligation.” He says there are a number of ways to address this. 

“What is I don’t like to see is a payment that is owed to you goes into the absorbed into the insurance claim. I’d rather see that paid up front,” Cotney says.
