Sheet Metal Supply was named the 2025 recipient of the Economic Development Award by the Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce during its annual Installation and Awards Ceremony.

The award, presented by the Grayslake Economic Development Commission, recognizes the company’s reinvestment in a previously unused industrial facility, its capital investment in the Illinois community, and the creation of new local jobs. Sheet Metal Supply delivers dependable architectural and construction-grade metal products for contractors, builders, and designers.

Sheet Metal Supply relocated to Grayslake in 2020 after purchasing a vacant building and investing in its rehabilitation to support expanded operations. The move was supported by an economic incentive agreement that included a sales tax rebate.

“By establishing their business in Grayslake, Sheet Metal Supply also provided additional jobs to the local economy,” Deputy Village Manager Chase Muscato said. “The company is a strong example of the mutual benefit that can come from economic incentive agreements.”

According to the company, more than 20 skilled employees have been added since the relocation, along with several million dollars invested in new fabrication equipment.

“When we found our new industrial home in Grayslake, we realized we had come across not just a property, but a community,” said Ben Kweton, president of Sheet Metal Supply. “We appreciate the opportunity to call this village our home.”

The Economic Development Award is given annually to individuals or organizations whose contributions support business growth and economic activity in Grayslake.
