CEMCO Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Commerce City, Colo.
The 140,000-sq.-ft. plant boosts production and logistics for Western U.S. contractors.

CEMCO has opened a 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Commerce City, Colo., expanding regional production capacity to support growing demand across the Western U.S. interior construction market.
After more than 21 years at its Osage Street facility near downtown Denver, CEMCO has relocated to a 140,000-square-foot plant situated on 18 acres. The larger footprint is intended to accommodate rising demand, enhance operational efficiency and provide room for future expansion. The facility is fully operational and serving customers throughout Colorado and surrounding markets.
For drywall and interior framing contractors, expanded regional manufacturing capacity can help reduce lead times, improve product availability and stabilize supply across active commercial and residential projects. Increased local production may also mitigate freight exposure and logistics bottlenecks that affect jobsite scheduling and material staging.
The company cited the need for additional space to support production, operations and logistics as key drivers behind the move. The new plant is designed to improve workflow and throughput while creating capacity to scale with market demand.
“We’re proud to open this new facility and continue growing in Colorado, Utah and Oklahoma,” said Tom Porter, President & CEO of CEMCO. He noted that the relocation follows more than two decades at the prior site and acknowledged the support of parent company JFE Shoji America Holdings, Inc., which purchased the new building in August 2025.
“It is a commitment for our key subsidiaries, CEMCO, and markets in the region to support the growth,” said Tad Takahashi, President & CEO of JFE Shoji America Holdings, Inc.
The Commerce City facility is expected to support local hiring in production, maintenance and operations roles as the company expands staffing.
For contractors tracking material availability, pricing and lead times, the expansion signals continued investment in regional manufacturing infrastructure serving the Western United States. Open production and operations positions will be posted on CEMCO’s careers page as hiring needs evolve.
