ICAA Webinar to Break Down 2024 IECC Rules
ICAA and CIMA will host a webinar on 2024 IECC insulation, air sealing and compliance.

The Insulation Contractors Association of America, in partnership with the Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers Association, will host a new 20-minute webinar focused on helping building professionals understand key changes in the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code.
Scheduled for Thursday, May 28, from 1:00 to 1:20 p.m. Eastern, the webinar is free for ICAA members and will examine updated residential code requirements shaping modern high-performance construction.
Titled "Understanding the 2024 IECC," the session will provide an overview of the latest prescriptive requirements and explain how continuous insulation is increasingly influencing thermal and moisture management strategies in residential buildings. Attendees will also learn how cavity insulation and continuous insulation (CI) must be properly calculated and applied to meet code compliance requirements.
The webinar will address evolving air leakage standards, including mandatory testing thresholds requiring homes to achieve maximum air leakage rates of either 5.0 or 3.0 air changes per hour depending on climate zone.
Presenters will also discuss the role of continuous rigid foam insulation products — including expanded polystyrene (EPS), extruded polystyrene (XPS), and polyisocyanurate (polyiso) — in reducing thermal bridging and supporting condensation control.
The webinar will be hosted by Aaron Davenport, technical director at Greenfiber. Davenport brings more than two decades of experience as a homebuilder and building materials executive, with expertise in building science, product innovation and green construction initiatives across North America.
Organizers say the webinar is designed to give insulation contractors, builders and other construction professionals practical guidance on navigating the latest energy code requirements while improving building performance.
Registration is available online through GoToWebinar.
