AISC Opens Entries for 2027 Steel Design Awards
Submissions due by Aug. 31

The American Institute of Steel Construction is accepting submissions for its 2027 Innovative Design in Engineering and Architecture with Structural Steel (IDEAS) Awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in structural steel design.
The awards honor projects in five categories: adaptive reuse, architecture, constructability, engineering, and sustainable design and construction. AISC is also accepting entries for the IDEAS|next award, which recognizes unbuilt projects that have a client and designated site.
Entries are due Aug. 31, 2026.
"For decades, AISC has taken pride in spotlighting the country's most significant design accomplishments, from massive iconic landmarks to smaller projects driven by impressive innovation," said Nima Balasubramanian, AISC's director of architecture. "It is an honor to continue to recognize the premier structural steel projects in the U.S., whether they are already standing or are still inspiring visions being refined in a design studio."
Winning projects will be recognized at NASCC: The Steel Conference and featured in AISC publications and digital platforms.
