CEMCO CEO Tom Porter to Retire After 39 Years
Tom Porter will retire in December, with Eric Larson succeeding him in January.

Current Vice President of Sales and Marketing Eric Larson will become president and CEO on Jan. 1, 2027. Porter will remain with the company through June 30, 2027, as executive advisor to support the leadership transition.
Porter joined CEMCO in 1987 as a sales representative and advanced through leadership roles including vice president, executive vice president and president and CEO. During his tenure, the company expanded from a single manufacturing facility in City of Industry, California, to four facilities serving key markets in California, Texas and Colorado. He also helped guide CEMCO through its acquisition by JFE Shoji America Holdings Inc. in 2023.
Beyond CEMCO, Porter has been active in advancing the steel framing industry. He was an original member of the Steel Framing Alliance, a founding member and past president of the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association, and served eight years on the Steel Framing Industry Association board, including six years as president.
"My time at CEMCO has been deeply rewarding," Porter said. "Over the years, I have watched our company navigate several recessions, the 2008-2009 financial crisis and COVID, emerging stronger and more resilient each time. I owe my career to the many people at CEMCO whom I have had the privilege to work with and learn from over the past 39 years."
Larson has spent more than three decades with CEMCO after joining the company as a sales representative. He later served as regional sales manager, director of business development and, since 2018, vice president of sales and marketing. He oversees the company's sales and marketing teams and has served on CEMCO's executive committee for the past 12 years.
Larson is a former board member of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry and currently serves as president of the Steel Framing Industry Association.
CEMCO manufactures cold-formed steel framing and metal lath products and has served the construction industry for more than 50 years.
