Recently completed, the Rusu-McCartin Boys & Girls Club stands as a multifaceted triumph for the community. Serving as a beacon of opportunity, the $15.5 million project not only supports the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, but also serves as a cornerstone for the neighborhood’s revitalization efforts, bringing prosperity to Chicago’s Austin neighborhood and beyond.

Now that Hurricane Milton has passed — and recovery from Hurricane Helene continues — Floridians are faced with cleaning up, repairing and rebuilding. In some counties, businesses and houses were damaged or destroyed. Power outages are widespread, and it may be some time before the flooding subsides.

Innovation drives progress. And in Amarillo, Texas, there is a new hub for innovation on the campus of Amarillo College. It is called Innovation Outpost, and the building’s renovation nods to the past with an eye on the future.

The New York chapter of Professional Women in Construction, a nonprofit organization that supports career-minded women and works to promote diversity within the architecture, engineering, construction and related industries, held its annual Salute to Women of Achievement on Sept. 18, recognizing professionals at the highest levels of the AEC industry.
