Mark Fowler

Mark Fowler joined Walls & Ceilings as editorial director in 2006. Fowler grew up in the construction business and has held a number of positions in different companies and associations. He spent 11 years with the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau before moving to his position with Soltner Group Architects in Seattle. Fowler is currently the executive director of the Stucco Manufacturers Association. He can be reached at Mark@markfowler.org.

All exterior claddings are unique but no exterior cladding is more unique than cement plaster. Cement plaster (stucco) is applied in a soft plastic like state, following any form or shape so desired and then allowed to set to a hard, durable, long-lasting finish.

Considering that the city can handle conventions on a global scale (and you can visit Paris, New York, the Sahara Desert and more), Las Vegas has the biggest hotels, the biggest shows with the biggest stars.

A new energy code is now in effect in California. It is commonly referred to as Title 24. The intent of Title 24 is to start constructing buildings that will save significantly on the use of energy and the requirements will keep getting tougher in the future. What does this have to do with contractors not in California? A lot.
