Nebraska, Nevada and Oklahoma are the latest in a string of states adopting the International Code. Nebraska adopted the 2000 International Building Code, International Residential Code and International Energy Conservation Code for its state building code. In May, Nebraska Gov. Mike Johanns signed the bill. It goes into effect January 1.
The Nevada State Public Works Board must adopt the seismic provisions of the IBC, according to an act signed in June by Gov. Kenny Guinn. The state's new seismic provisions become effective July 2004 for all public state works.
