On Jan. 30-31, 2004, the association will present its "Academy 2004" at the Renaissance Denver Hotel, in Denver. Two educational tracks will be presented: a technical track on Friday, with information on steel framing and bidding the steel portion of projects; and a management track on Saturday, with information on negotiating projects, job site productivity, and controlling job costs.

Presenting "Job Negotiation Skills" will be Peter Francis, president of South Ashby. Presenting information on job site productivity and documentation to control job costs will be Norb Slowikowski, of Slowikowski & Associates. Presenting on cold-formed steel and metal stud bidding will be Don Allen, executive director of the Light Gauge Steel Engineers Association.

AWCI also announced its Expo: Construction Directions 2004 will be held April 12-17, 2004, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas. The show features 10 education sessions and more than 150 exhibiting companies.

This is the 87th presentation of AWCI's annual convention and trade show for construction industry professionals. The show will last four days, offering participants an opportunity to learn, network and conduct business, and collaborate with other construction industry leaders.
