Susan VerBurg, president and CEO of Merlex Stucco and Vero, was honored with the Remarkable Women award from the National Association of Women Business Owners in October. She, along with four other fellow honorees, received their awards in front of 750 guests.

"I dreamed of running this company as a management team and I've been able to make it happen since I moved down here from Oregon," said VerBurg, as she accepted her award. "Now, every employee in the company has a voice, and I make it a point to listen."
