The Celebration Renovation Clip allows one to easily install a new acoustical ceiling without removing the existing ceiling. This patented clip enables installers to adapt either of these high-performance ceilings directly onto any standard 15/16-inch metal suspension system and enhance the ceiling's acoustical performance in high-profile areas without adding new ceiling grid. Installation of the new ceiling panels is relatively simple. The existing suspension system must be checked to ensure that it is structurally sound and the plenum must be free of maintenance problems, such as roof leaks, mold and mildew. Next, the existing ceiling grid should be squared, especially in older buildings that may have settled. One renovation clip is attached to each intersection of the 15/16-inch face T-Bar grid and the new ceiling panels are simply snapped in place over the original ones. The clips, which are made from flame-resistant, self-extinguishing resin, can be attached to any manufacturer's 2-foot-by-2-foot or 2-foot-by-4-foot, roll-formed, metal 15/16-inch-face suspension system.
