Ames Taping Tool Systems Inc. announces the selection of its tool certification program to Marshall Community & Technical College's off-campus associate degree program. Administered as part of an academic partnership program between the IUPAT's Finishing Trades Institute and the college, individuals who complete tool certification training can now receive credits towards their associate's degree.

The institute has collaborated with Marshall CTC over the past 10 years, with the goal of providing a degree pathway for its apprenticeship programs and other training curriculum developed by its vendor partners. Beginning last summer, Ames' tool certification program has gone through an extensive development and review process with the IUPAT's curriculum committee, prior to its inclusion as a module in the off-campus program.

The Ames tool certification program was created to meet the professional development needs of the drywall industry. The tool certification program helps novice tool users, as well as professional finishers enhance their credentials by certifying that they have been trained in the proper operation of Ames Automatic Taping and Finishing Tools.
