Dryvit Systems has introduced Backstop DMS, a weather-resistive
barrier and adhesive that combines the two into
one. A patent-pending notched trowel (available at all authorized the company's distributor locations) and process
are required to effectively apply a seamless, liquid applied water-resistive
barrier to the substrate while at the same time creating vertical ribbons for
both adhesive and drainage.
“Outsulation Systems using an air and weather
barrier such as Backstop DMS are a greener building solution,” said Tony
Stall, vice president of marketing and sustainability for Dryvit. “In addition, the
bags are easier to store and dispose than buckets, which is more convenient for
the contractor, and more environmentally friendly to boot.”
