When working on SkySail, a luxury condominium project in New Bern, N.C., JDavis Architects wanted to incorporate new designs at affordable prices. The challenge was to offer a complete package of trims that are durable, impact and humidity resistant, due to the condo’s proximity to the ocean, and was also affordable. NMC with its local distributor CCMI was able to offer the right package of wood-alternative moldings. At the end, JDavis Architects and Weaver Cooke, the general contractor, decided on a combination of lightweight extruded polystyrene crown moldings and high-density polymer system chair rails, casings and baseboards.

NMC’s moldings blend harmoniously in each room and provide a design that is unique, elegant and yet simple. It showcases the possibilities wood-alternative moldings can provide, the company said in a release.

The SkySail project has received statewide recognition for its design and integration of new products.
