MetalWorks Tin is a line of ceiling panels that are extra microperforated for acoustical performance. The perforations measure only seven-tenths of a millimeter in diameter, which makes them nearly invisible. Yet, when backed with a fiberglass infill, the perforations allow the ceiling panels to achieve a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 0.85, meaning they absorb 85 percent of the sound that strikes them. Available in both 2-feet-by-2-feet lay-in and tegular panels and 2-feet-by-4-feet nail-up panels, the ceilings can be installed in either 9/16- or 15/16-inch suspension systems in coordinating colors. The new additions are the only tegular panels in the industry designed for use in narrow 9/16-inch suspension systems. The combination of the panel’s reveal edge and the grid’s thin profile diminishes the overall visibility of the suspension system. If you read this article, please circle number 327.
