Lafarge North America’s LEED Product Guide App enhances design professionals’ access to the company’s Web-based interactive Product Guide for LEED Project Certification by allowing users to access the tool’s content via its Apple iPhones and iPads. This App is specifically designed to run on the Apple mobile operating system.

Immediate access to the “Product Guide” helps designers leverage spontaneous design ideas when they have them because they don’t need to be at their workstations or Wi-Fi enabled laptops to build on creative moments when they arise.

“The App allows designers to … bridge the gap between their spontaneous creative ideas and the necessary technical information to realize a vision,” said Andrew Pinneke, P.E., LEED AP and sustainable construction coordinator for Lafarge. “If an idea comes about in the park, on the bus, or on a job site, for example, that could call for the use of a Lafarge product, the designer can quickly use the App on his or her mobile device to research product specifications and determine how a product can serve a design concept. Additionally, they’re able to contact the appropriate Lafarge product specialist on the spot.”

Design professionals increasingly are downloading Apps, or applications, to use on their mobile devices. Mobile applications give users the ability to access information of all kinds while outside of a home or office and without dependence on a traditional network connection.

The Lafarge LEED Product Guide App can be obtained free of charge from the Apple iTunes Store.
