Noncombustible commercial insulated sheathing

ROXUL

ComfortBoard Commercial Insulated Sheathing is a rigid, high-density, non-combustible stone wool insulation board specifically designed for use as an exterior continuous insulation in commercial rainscreen wall systems. Thermally efficient and vapor permeable, the product provides the rigidity and durability needed for many exterior cladding assemblies, such as lightweight metal and composite panel systems. Its thermal properties improve energy efficiency. Stone wool is also water repellent, providing a tertiary drainage plane for bulk water which may migrate into the wall cavity; yet allows the breathability necessary for outward drying and effective moisture control. This CIS is also highly vapor permeable and sound absorbent, two qualities that are ideally suited to this application. The product is available in 1, 1¼, 2, 2½ and 3 inch thicknesses, with R-values of R4, 5, 8, 10 and 12, respectively.

Continuous insulation boards

Atlas

The company provides four code-compliant exterior insulation options to accommodate both residential and commercial construction:

  • EnergyShield Pro-Series (PRO and PRO2)
  • EnergyShield (Type V/Residential)
  • Rboard (Type V/Residential)

The boards have a polyiso insulation core, which has the highest R-value rating of common rigid insulation. The closed-cell polyiso core is laminated between specially designed facers, which vary depending on the type of construction intended.

Stainless steel lath

Niles Building Products

The company has announced the addition of Type 304 and 316 Stainless Steel lath and trim accessories to its full line of lath products. This will give architects and contractors the design flexiblity to choose from G60 Hot Dipped Carbon Steel, Zinc Alloy or the performance of Stainless Steel. The lath is produced to meet ASTM C847 with the exception that the metal is comprised of stainless steel and not galvanized carbon steel. It can be used instead of standard metal lath in the same manner detailed in ASTM C1063. It offers enhanced corrosion resistance properties for critical applications, such as pool and coastal areas where exposure to chemicals and salt create design challenges.

Faux wood ceilings

Armstrong

The Create! Wood Looks ceilings offer the look of real wood, excellent acoustical performance and cleanability, in an Ultima Health Zone ceiling panel. When designing a discontinuous ceiling, the new ceiling panels, combined with coordinating Axiom Wood Looks perimeter trim and Prelude XL Wood Looks suspension systems, offer an easy and versatile way to create acoustical ceiling clouds in open plenum applications. Ideal for hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, restaurants, lobbies, and other similar applications, the cost effective new ceiling panels are available in five Wood Looks finishes, including Bamboo, Barnwood, Light Cherry, Oak and Walnut.  Coordinating Axiom perimeter trim and Prelude grid are offered in the same finishes except Bamboo. Coordinating Axiom Wood Looks trim is available in both straight and curved options. All Create! ceilings on Ultima Health Zone panels are durable, washable, water-repellant and soil-resistant.
