EIMA Names Carrillo 2014’s Mike Sweeney Award Winner
The EIFS Industry Members Association honored Albert Carrillo for his Stucco Stop column “Barrier Vs. Drainage EIFS” (Walls & Ceilings, November 2013) the Mike Sweeney Award. The winner was announced during this year’s EIMA 2014 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, on March 31.
The Mike Sweeney Award was founded by the association in memory of Sto’s Mike Sweeney, who passed in 2011. Sweeney worked as the media relations manager at Sto for 10 years, until his death. While at the company, Sweeney was responsible for public relations and advertising, thanks in large part to his relationships with vendors and the media.
During his time with Sto, he was a dedicated and enthusiastic participant on EIMA’s Communications Committee. Sweeney’s many contributions greatly advanced the work of EIMA and EIFS.
