Wm. Murry & Son Awarded the 2014 Remodelers Award of Excellence

November 17, 2014

Wm. Murry & Son Inc., a Lancaster, Pa.-based residential and commercial construction company, recently was awarded the 2014 Remodelers Award of Excellence for Whole House Remodel - Division 2 by the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County, a non-profit trade organization comprised of builders, subcontractors and other professionals involved in the home building industry.

According to President and CEO of Murry, Bill Murry, the company received the award for the renovation performed on a private home in East Lampeter Township. Entries were judged on workmanship and the quality of construction, creativity, design, value and cost effectiveness, and sensitivity to the existing structure.

“It is truly an honor to receive this award since it is one that is voted on by our peers in the industry. It is a recognition and celebration of our commitment to quality craftsmanship and design in our homemaking and remodeling processes. When other leaders in our industry recognize the quality of our workmanship, it validates the integrity of our company,” said Murry.

The remodeling project originally was to move the kitchen to the rear of the home where the dining room was located and move the dining room to where the kitchen was located in order to take advantage of the gorgeous view offered outside the back of the home. .

“As we progressed with the relocation plan for the kitchen, we noted the kitchen window would look out over the Conestoga River and the Lancaster Country Club,” said Murry. “From there our designer made suggestions for the living room, guest bedroom, guest bathroom, master bedroom closet, basement family room, and basement storage area.” The remodeling progressed from there.

As part of the award, the homeowner provided this testimonial: "We began this project with a good idea of what we wanted. As expected we had a number of changes that we wanted to make throughout the process. Murry was so accommodating and easy to work with in terms of explaining how those changes would affect other things, working out problems, communicating with the sub-contractors, putting forth their own ideas and suggestions and keeping us updated throughout the process. The communication was constant and consistent and we felt like we had a team advocating for us. It was actually a joy to see the smiling faces of our contractors each morning. The team began to feel like family and it was sad to see them go at the end. It was a very large project and one that we would do all over again with Murry. Our family could not be happier with the results. We just love our new home."

Since 1928, Wm. Murry & Son, Inc. has been one of the top new construction and remodeling companies in Lancaster County, boasting a vast array of options for homeowners looking to upgrade their residences.
