USG Honored with Wisconsin Safety Council’s 22nd Annual Corporate Safety Award

usglogo
June 29, 2016
USG Corporation announced its USG Interiors LLC facility in Walworth, Wisconsin, and USG Structural Technologies, LLC facility in Delavan, Wisconsin, are honorees of the Wisconsin Safety Council’s 22nd Annual Corporate Safety Awards. This year’s award recognizes 15 companies that demonstrate exemplary safety records and excellence in safety and health management.

“We are proud to be recognized by the Wisconsin Safety Council for our commitment to creating the safest possible environment for our families, colleagues, customers and communities,” said Brian Cook, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at USG. “Safety is a top priority at our company, and all of our employees are committed to working safely; every minute, every task and every day.”

USG manufacturing facilities routinely operate 17 times better than industry safety norms. In 2015, 94 percent of USG’s locations operated without a lost time injury. The Walworth facility achieved a streak of 5,000 safe work days and 15 years without a lost-time injury and the Delavan facility has operated without a lost-time injury since its inception in June 2005.

“This year’s winners embody the success stories that make Wisconsin one of the safest states to work,” said Janie Ritter, Director of the Wisconsin Safety Council. “We would like to congratulate the winning companies along with all the finalists as they are true models to businesses across the state of what it means to make the safety of their employees a priority each and every day.”

An independent panel of 45 safety, insurance and human resource professionals selected the winners from a competitive pool of applicants based on criteria that included safety and health leadership, training and implementation programs, and employee participation. Additionally, organizations provided information on their safety accomplishments and goals.

The Wisconsin Safety Council will recognize all winners of Corporate Safety Awards at the 74th Annual Wisconsin Safety and Health Conference on May 17-18 in Wisconsin Dells.
