In honor of their 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, head coach Geno Auriemma and the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics will be presented with one of the Werner ladders used to cut down the nets in Indianapolis this past April. The presentation will take place during pregame ceremonies of the Huskies’ game versus Indiana University (Pennsylvania), at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.

"For the ninth year in a row and the sixth time with the University of Connecticut, Werner Ladder is privileged to be associated with the net-cutting ceremony and such an iconic moment in women’s sports. It is our honor to commemorate the achievements of Coach Auriemma and the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team during the 2015-2016 season," said Chris Filardi, vice president of marketing for Werner Co. “To help them kick off the new season, we are pleased to present them with one of the 2016 Championship ladders at their first home game of the season.”

“The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association is pleased to have Werner Ladder as a corporate teammate and grateful for its continuing support of NCAA women’s basketball and our association,” said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. “We are honored to be a part of this presentation of the ladders to Coach Auriemma and share this special moment for him and his team."

Coach Auriemma will autograph a replica of the Championship ladder used to cut down the 2016 nets and it will be auctioned off at a UConn fundraising event. More details will be released at a later date.
